We spent five hours at the DMV, we’re still adding firewood to our racks, and Roux had a rough weekend. Right now, our biggest worry is Roux, but she is improving. Everything starts to snowball from here. We realized that Thanksgiving is just over a month away now. Poor Roux, sounds like she has arthritis and I feel for the poor girl. Rainy and cool weather will be her nemesis for the rest of her life. Volteran cream does help some with the pain and movement, temporarily.
Last week I renewed my driver’s license. It took about 15 minutes. I didn’t get a REAL ID because we don’t fly or travel anywhere anymore.
Our weather is fall-like, and increasingly feeling more like LATE fall-early winter. Low’s this week, we’re told, will be below freezing while the highs will be in the 40’s. The 2025 growing season is done. All the corn and soybean fields have been harvested an fall tillage completed. Thankfully, there have been no fatal accidents in connection to the harvest.
We’ve yet to fire up our wood stove but we’ve an ample supply of split, seasoned wood.
On Wednesday we have to travel to Sioux Falls for my post-surgical checkup, a quick stop at Sam’s, hopefully we can stop for taco’s on the way home. Since darkness settles in so quickly, and that’s about the time deer are out and about, the trip home will be on intense alert. We’ve both hit deer and don’t care to hit any others. I figured Roux will be having her good days and bad days as the weather goes. This time I think she may have strainmed a muscle or two as well. She is doing much better today though.
