It’s kind of a funny story, but Colleen tells it better than I do so you can read about how her Stroga-Knock-Off came to be and Colleen gives you the recipe too. Since a couple of people asked for the recipe, Colleen felt now was as good of a time as any to add it to her list on the “From Colleen’s Kitchen” page. If you are a fan of Beef Stroganoff, this one is as good as it gets without all of the extra work involved for the real thing.
Colleen Felt Inspired To Add Another Recipe

Going to try your stroga-knockoff on my husband….
Traditional Hungarian Goulash does not contain tomatoes. You brown flour coated stew meat in batches, then saute onions til golden. Add lots of a high quality paprika and some caraway seeds. Return meat to pan, then add beef stock…simmer for a couple hours. We serve over homemade fermented kraut.
Colleen is now intrigued by Hungarian Goulash so she’s going through her cookbooks and searching the internet. I may be eating some in the not so distant future… have a great day…. 😎
